NCAA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL 2012 – JAN 26 – #15 Delaware defeats Hofstra 84-66
Delaware All-American Elena Delle Donne exploded for a season-high 41 points and Junior Lauren Carra contributed a season-high 16 points, Delaware (17-1, 8-0 CAA), has won seven straight games, The lady hens trail by nine points in the first half, However the lady hens would go on score 14 straight points tie the game at 55-55.
Delaware All-American Elena Delle Donne The nation’s leading scorer with 27.9 points per game, improve on her previous season-high and previous record of 40 points scored vs. Penn State on Nov. 17 and 40 points vs. George Mason Jan. 8. Elena Delle Donne has now scored 40-point five times in her three-year career.
The Pride (14-5, 6-2 CAA), had won five of their last six games, The pride got a great effort from Hofstra All-American Junior Forward Shante Evans who had team-highs of 22 points and seven rebounds to lead the way for the Pride Katelyn Loper added 14 points and Candice Bellocchio contributed 10 points.
Hofstra returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Drexel for a 2 p.m. contest, The Hens will return to action Jan. 29 when they travel to James Madison.
