Hildaman Chorale Present an evening of spirituals

061211 Wilmington DE: Sheila M. Cassidy directs the Hildaman Chorale during an evening of Negro Spirituals directed by Sheila Cassidy Sunday, June 12, 2011, at P.S. Dupont Middle school in Wilmington Delaware.

The HildaMan Chorale is a talented, volunteer vocal ensemble founded by Leander Morris and Allen E. Clark in 1980, in response to the urging of Bebe Ross Coker who felt the need of a community-based ensemble whose primary objective would be singing and preservation of the spiritual. Morris and Clark selected as a secondary objective, the performance of music by local composers.

The members of the Chorale share a love of music and the joy of performing to the delight of its audiences. Their repertoire ranges from spirituals to standard oratorio and classical literature, madrigals, jazz and show tunes.

Special to The News Journal/SAQUAN STIMPSON
