NCAA FOOTBALL 2010 – Dec 18 – Division I FCS Championship Semifinals – Delaware defeats Georgia Southern 27-10. Delaware will head to Texas for the Division I FCS National Championship Game Vs The Eastern Washington Eagles who defeated Villanova 41-31 friday night in Washington.
Villanova comitted 6 turnovers in that game.

#5 Delaware defeats No.11 New Hampshire 16-3 on a brisk Friday night at Delaware stadium in Newark Delaware. Pat Devlin was nearly flawless, completing 27 of 38 passes for 261 yards. White caught eight passes for 94 yards, Crosby had seven catches for 55 yards, and Schenauer caught four passes for 43 yards and scored a touchdown, CAA Rookie of the Year and the league’s leading rusher Freshman running back Andrew Pierce with 90 yards on 23 carries.

Delaware will host the Division I FCS Championship Semifinals Round next weekend.

NCAA FOOTBALL 2010 – Dec 04 – Delaware Defeats Lehigh


No. 5 Delaware defeats No.18 Lehigh 42-20 on a brisk Saturday afternoon at Delaware stadium in Newark Delaware. Delaware will face New Hampshire in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

University of Delaware Headed Back to NCAA Tournament!


Despite Yesterday overtime loss to Villanova, Delaware will a first round bye and Will Face Lehigh or Northern Iowa Dec. 4 at Delaware Stadium After the Bye Week.

The Blue Hens, who ended the regular season with a 9-2 record and a share of the Colonial Athletic Association title, earned the No. 3 seed in the 20-team tournament which was announced live on ESPNU Television Sunday morning.

Delaware host the winner of this week’s matchup between Patriot League champion Lehigh and Missouri Valley Conference member Northern Iowa on Dec. 4 at Delaware Stadium.

The Blue Hens, who entered last week as the nation’s No. 1 ranked team before falling to rival Villanova 28-21 in overtime on Saturday, will be making their 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament – In their last trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2007, the Hens advanced all the way to the national championship game behind QB (#5) Joe Flacco before falling to top-seed Appalachian State. Delaware captured the NCAA title in 2003 when the Hens swept through the tournament and defeated Colgate 40-0 in the title game at Chattanooga, Tenn. Delaware also captured the national title in 1979 (NCAA II) and were national runners-up in 1974, 1978, 1982, and 2007.

All games of the tournament will be held at campus sites leading up to the championship game, which will be held for the first time at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas on Jan. 7.
