Norman Oliver’s turkey drive feeds almost 3,500 families again!


The final stop of a 12-plus hour work day to distribute turkeys statewide saw Norman Oliver and his volunteers, 4th District Council Member Hanifa G.N. Shabazz, United States Representative, DE (Elect) Lisa Blunt Rochester and countless others were welcomed by the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Newark Tuesday evening.

The Delaware 87ers was also on hand spending some time playing basketball with the kids at the Greater Newark Boys & Girls Club before donating seven turkeys to Stormin’s Turkey Drive.

For more than three decades, thousands of families and seniors have been fed for the Thanksgiving holiday through Norman Oliver’s NOR Enterprises Annual Turkey Give Away. The event provides more than 3,000 turkeys to families in time for Thanksgiving in conjunction with Our Youth Inc.

Latin Fusion will feature a mixture of Latin foods that include dishes from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia and Peru. The restaurant features an 80 person dining room and a 30 person lounge, with private function space. It is expected to create 12 jobs. Ms. Rodriguez will manage the restaurant and staff that includes an executive chef, two sous-chefs/line cooks, two kitchen employees, four waitresses and two bartenders.

Latin Fusion is owned and operated by Rebecca Rodriguez of New Castle.

The restaurant is located at 837 North Union Street in Wilmington
