NEWARK – Junior middle linebacker Charles Bell was Delaware’s only first-team choice as the Colonial Athletic Association announced its all-conference football teams Tuesday.
Bell, from Conestoga, Pennsylvania, and Penn Manor High, led the Blue Hens in tackles (94) and tackles for lost yardage (11.5). He ranked fourth in the CAA in both categories.
Newark High graduate Taylor Reynolds, a senior cornerback at CAA champion James Madison, was also a first-team pick.
Delaware, which closed a second straight 4-7 season with Saturday’s 41-10 loss to Villanova, had four second-team picks in senior guard/tackle Connor Bozick, junior center Brody Kern, junior defensive tackle Bilal Nichols, a Hodgson Vo-Tech graduate, and sophomore linebacker Troy Reeder, the Salesianum graduate who transferred to Delaware this year from Penn State.
Last week Friday “10/28/16” I was assign to photograph Athlete of the Week for The News Journal in Wilmington Delaware. Normally, I will try to envision my set-up prior to arriving at the location. Is this normal? Well, For me it’s quite normal to do this being that I will only have a short period of time to work with the athlete.
Upon arriving at the location I immediately made up in my mind that I was going to use multiple speed lights (4) to light the subject. However, Once I pulled into the parking lot the wind had other ideas. On that day the wind was gusting up to 14 knots which interns translates into wind speeds up to 16.5 mph. The wind gust was entirely too strong to use multiple speed lights like I had originally planned.
Therefore, I went to a one light set up. I used (1) Canon EOS 430 EXII and (1) Rogue Flashbender 2 – Large Soft Box kit and (1) standard light stand with the help of a student-athlete to hold the stand and I used The Canon 7D Mark II and the lens was the Canon 24-105f/4L.
I do plan to go back to a full frame camera body particularly for shooting features “Portraits” I personally feel I will get better results with a full frame body verse a crop sensor camera, This is my opinion. My last full frame body was the Canon 1Ds, Currently, I’m looking at affordable used full frame bodies Examples: 1Ds Mark II and the Canon 5D Mark II.
See set-up below. Featured Images is the final result.
