Delaware 87ers are without Guard’s Kilpatrick and McRae whom are both on NBA 10-Day contracts with Brooklyn and Cleveland, Davis could be a valuable tool to help mentor guard Russ Smith.

“Our organizational efforts continue to center on finding, developing, and providing opportunity to talented professionals,” Said Philadelphia 76ers Chief of Staff and Delaware 87ers General Manager, Brandon D. Williams. “Baron still has much to contribute to the game, and we are excited to play a role as he transitions through the next phase of his successful career.”

In the third quarter of a New York Knicks and Miami Heat game in 2012 the veteran point guard Baron Davis suffered a horrific knee injury. He was taken off on a stretcher, the MRI of Davis’ right knee showed a partial tear of the patella tendon and complete tears of the MCL and ACL.

Davis, a two-time NBA All-Star and former All-NBA selection, has 835 NBA games on his resume, with career averages of 16.1 points, 7.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 34.2 minutes per game.

A two-year starter at the University of California, Los Angeles, Davis was the No. 3 overall selection in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets.

Delaware 87ers sign G Baron Davis.
This should be fun. Davis in his prime was one of the best last decade, and the 36-year-old guard has a little left in the tank. It’s too bad Andrei Kirilenko won’t be in the D-League with him to recreate one of the best facials of all time. Mar 2 – 8:29 PM

Baron Davis has reportedly signed with the Delaware 87ers of the D-League.
Davis is hopeful to make an NBA comeback through the D-League, but even if he does get a call up, it’s unlikely he’s anything more than a third-string point guard. His days of relevancy in fantasy hoops are long behind him. Mar 2 – 9:09 AM
